This year’s edition of Amsterdam Dance Event will have an Australian theme.

Australia House returns to the annual dance music powwow, Europe’s most important gathering of electronic music professionals, with over 1,000 events across 200 sites and and welcoming roughly 500,000 visitors.

An initiative of Sounds Australia, the nation’s music export office, Australia House is a two-day chill zone where ADE delegates can meet and greet.

The activation is “all about sparking collaboration and fast-tracking the global rise of Australian talent at the world’s premier electronic music gathering,” according to reps, and takes over Box Sociaal Jordaan on Wednesday October 22nd and Thursday October 23rd.

ADE 2025 will be presented from Wednesday, October 22nd to Sunday, October 26th, and for the first time won’t overlap with SXSW Sydney.

Electronic music is booming in Australia, and the country’s community of producers and DJs are flying the flag high on the international circuit, led by the likes of Dom Dolla, Confidence Man, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Fisher and others.

“Everyone is committed. RÜFÜS DU SOL is so committed. Fish is so committed," explains Dom Dolla in his cover story for the June issue of Rolling Stone AU/NZ.

"Australia being at the forefront of dance music and dance culture, globally, I think is a reflection of how small our population is. Because we have such a small population, from a taste perspective, trends move really, really fast. So, a lot of Aussie dance music producers and songwriters have their finger on the pulse.”

The most recent IMS Business Report found that Australia is the third largest market in the world for electronic music, trailing only the United States and Germany. Australians stream, on average, more of the genre than any other nations, the publication's authors explain.

ADE

And according to data from Spotify, based on the volume of the streamers following dance music, Australia ranks at No. 3.

ADE started in 1996 as a three-day conference with 300 delegates with about 30 DJs performing.

Last year's event was a record-setter, boasting more than half-a-million attendees across its many daytime and late-night schedules.
