Chart Wrap: Wiz Khalifa & Major Lazer continue rise

Hot 100

The Hot 100 sees a new #1 this week with Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean On featuring MØ taking the top position up from last week’s #6. Ed Sheeran’s Bloodstream takes a new peak at #4 up from #9 - the closest it has gotten to previous single Thinking Out Loud’s #1. Years & Years see their latest single King hit #10 up from #20, a new highpoint and the highest they have ever charted as a lead artist.

Outside the Top 10, Galantis’ Runaway hits a new peak at #19 up from #36. Skrillex & Diplo’s Where Are U Now featuring Justin Bieber jumps to #21 up from #32 and Jamie Lawson’s Wasn’t Expecting That makes #30 up from #57. The most moved track this week is Rachel Platten’s Fight Song which now sits at #36 up from #72, a total of 36 positions. Only one new debut takes place in the Top 50 and that is Tori Kelly’s Nobody Love which debuts at #50.

ARIA Singles

Wiz Khalifa takes his first #1 on the ARIA Singles chart this week with a #1 debut of all things. His track See You Again featuring Charlie Puth, taken from the Furious 7 soundtrack, takes over his previous highest single, 2012’s Young, Wild & Free (#4). Though this debut pushes Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean On to #2, Skrillex & Diplo’s Where Are U Now featuring Justin Bieber moves up to #4 up from #7. Galantis’ Runaway sees success on this chart as well, moving up to #12 from #19, a new peak. At #20 is another debut, this time from Jamie Lawson’s Wasn’t Expecting That, which also marks his first ever ARIA chart debut.

ARIA Albums

Lee Kernaghan’s Spirit Of The Anzacs sees its third week at #1 on the ARIA Albums chart. Remaining at #2 is Ed Sheeran’s X which enjoys the last bit of spotlight following the conclusion to his Australian arena tour last week. #3 sees a new peak for the Furious 7 soundtrack which is up from #33. At #4 is a new entry from All Time Low with Future Hearts, their first ever Top 10 in the ARIA chart. #6 sees Ed Sheeran’s + jump from #13, again likely to be the last boost this album receives now that the tour is over. Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie & Lowell debuts at #11, making his seventh album the first to enter the Top 50.
