Chart Wrap: Elvis Presley debuts at #1

Hot 100

The Weeknd takes his second #1 on the TMN Hot 100 this week as The Hills hits the top of the chart from #4. It follows the success of his previous #1 charting single Can’t Feel My Face. Robin Schulz follows close behind at #2 up from #3 with Sugar whilst Drake takes a new high point at #4 from #7.

Replacing him at #7 is Zara Larsson & MNEK’s Never Forget You which is up from #21, marking the first of the new Top 10 entries. At #8 up from #26 is Justin Bieber’s Sorry which enters just three positions below his previous #1 single What Do You Mean?, which now means Bieber holds two tracks in the Top 10. Duke Dumont rounds off the last of the new entries with a move to #9 from #12 with Ocean Drive.

Outside the Top 10, Conrad Sewell’s Who You Lovin’ makes it at #11 from #14 whilst Dawin’s Dessert continues to climb at #12 from #17. Adele makes a huge jump to #19 from #53 with her new hit Hello whilst Marcus Marr & Chet Faker’s The Trouble With Us makes more progress into the Top 25 at #23 from #40. Rachel Platten’s Stand By You sees a big boost in airplay, hitting #54 from #90, though most moved this week is Samantha Jade’s Shake That featuring Pitbull, which after a big week at commercial radio, has hit #45 from #86, a total of 41 places.

Three new debuts make it into the Top 50 this week. First at #38 is Avicii’s Borken Arrows followed by Ariana Grande’s Focus at #39. David Guetta makes for the last new debut at #48 with Bang My Head featuring Sia & Fetty Wap.

ARIA Singles

Adele sits pretty at the top of the ARIA Singles chart for week two with Hello - though it still has a while to go if it’s to beat her previous best Someone Like You which remained at #1 for a total of seven consecutive weeks. She leads ahead of Justin Bieber’s Sorry which remains at #2 and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ Downtown, which jumps back to #3 from #5.

Zara Larsson & MNEK’s Never Forget You takes a new peak at #5 up from #9 whilst Duke Dumont’s Ocean Drive enters the Top 10 at #8 from #13.

Only one new debut makes it into the Top 10 this week, that being Ariana Grande’s Focus at #10, her third single to enter the bracket.

Marcus Marr & Chet Faker’s The Trouble With Us hits #14 from #28 as the single continues to see success in sales, no doubt also being pushed along by Chet Faker’s current tour of the country.

ARIA Albums

Taking the #1 debut this week is Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, his second #1 on the ARIA Albums chart; the first was his 30 #1 Hits in September of 2002.

At #2 is the new debut from Tina Arena’s Eleven, her eleventh studio album and the follow up to #4 charting 2013 album Reset.

Def Leppard make the last of the Top 5 debuts at #4 with their self-titled album. It’s their first album to enter the ARIA Albums chart in over ten years and their first to hit the Top 5 since X in 2002.

Christmas is definitely close when Michale Buble makes his expected return to the ARIA Albums chart with 2011’s Christmas. He’s managed to return to #1 every year since the album was released and this Christmas looks to be no different.

Hitting #19 following its 20^th anniversary re-issue is Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill.
