triple j's Ben & Liam fall behind former hosts Matt & Alex in the ratings
The triple j brekky team have picked up more listeners this month, but still lag behind the fanbase held by their predecessors Matt Okine and Alex Dyson.

With today's radio survey results out in the wild, the results aren't particularly noteworthy across the board, providing little excitement aside from WSFM regaining its spot as the #1 station in Sydney, bumping smoothfm off the back off strong results from its brekky team Jonesy and Amanda, who have jumped from a listener share of 7.8% to 8.9%.
One highly scrutinised breakfast team who aren't faring quite so well are triple j's Ben & Liam who, despite some gains across the board, are still struggling to match the market share held by former hosts Matt & Alex before their departure earlier this year, The Music reports.
In Sydney, Ben & Liam hold a 5.9% share, a drop on Matt & Alex's 6.6% at the same time last year, but on the positive side they've gained 0.8% since last month's survey, which saw triple j score surprisingly good ratings nationally across the board.
Brisbane is also a strong market for Ben & Liam, who managed a 7.9% share, but they didn't quite manage to meet the 8.5% seen by Matt & Alex. Similarly, Perth saw a slight 0.2% bump to 9.5% (vs. Matt & Alex's 10.3% last year), while their hometown of Adelaide actually saw them beat Matt & Alex's 2016 numbers with a 5.3% share nudging out Matt & Alex's 4.6%.
Melbourne has seen the boys take a hit, however, as they've dropped a hefty 1.1% points to land on a share of 3.7%, falling behind Matt & Alex's 4.4% and continuing to be triple j's toughest breakfast market by far.
Ben & Liam did see a good spike in support from Melbournians earlier this year when their beef with rock and sports station Triple M gave us this hilarious chunk of audio from the pair - and we'd definitely love to see more of this sort of thing.
Matt & Alex also had plenty of time to settle into the role and gain their following, so hopefully Ben & Liam will continue to find their feet - check out the full radio ratings below.
