Triple J Announces New Breakfast and Drive Teams as Concetta Caristo Departs
Breakfast host Concetta Caristo is bidding farewell to triple j, as part of a major mid-year shake-up to its on-air lineup.

Comedian and triple j Breakfast host Concetta Caristo is bidding farewell to the station after three-and-a-half years, as part of a major mid-year shake-up to its on-air lineup.
Triple j has today announced changes to its flagship Breakfast and Drive programs, set to launch in July. Stepping into Breakfast are longtime friends and current Drive duo Abby Butler and Tyrone Pynor, who will take over the national morning slot with their blend of music, humour and loose, fast-paced chemistry. The pair have been on air together since late 2023, quickly building a loyal audience across Drive.
Since joining triple j, Abby & Tyrone have featured across some of the broadcaster’s biggest cultural moments, including hosting the Hottest 100, Mardi Gras, One Night Stand, and extensive festival coverage nationwide.
Butler said: “Brb letting my 14-year-old self know her dreams have come true. She’s currently too busy calling into triple j to try and win San Cisco’s bongos from their Like a Version (true story!), but it’s safe to say she’ll be stoked.”
Pynor jokingly added: “Girl... imma need a louder alarm.”
Caristo’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter at triple j, where she has become one of its most recognisable voices across Breakfast and wider network programming. During her time at the station, she has co-hosted Breakfast, presented Like a Version, fronted ABC’s Logie-nominated New Year’s Eve broadcast, co-hosted the ARIA Awards, and appeared across multiple Hottest 100s and major live events.
Caristo has also been a consistent presence across triple j’s national and festival broadcasting slate, earning praise for her distinctive storytelling style and ability to connect with artists and audiences alike.

Reflecting on her departure, she said: “As a girl known for having one million feelings in every moment, it is criminal to be asked to sum up my time at triple j in a sentence. Spending my mornings laughing and talking to so many people around the country has been a genuine privilege and joy in my life. I’m going to cherish the memories forever.”
Following Caristo’s departure, current Breakfast co-host Luka Muller will shift to Drive, where he will front the afternoon program alongside a new co-host yet to be announced.
Muller joined Breakfast in late 2024 and has since been part of a busy period for the station, including triple j’s 50th anniversary celebrations, multiple Hottest 100 broadcasts, two editions of One Night Stand, and appearances at the ARIA Awards and J Awards.
He says: “I’m so proud of everything Concetta and I got to do on Breakfast and feel so very lucky to have shared it all with someone so kind, talented, fun, and silly as Chet. Stepping into Drive is gonna be so much fun. I’m excited to meet new listeners, I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve been cooking up, and I’m excited to turn off the 4am alarm.”
Caristo and Muller will host their final triple j Breakfast show on Friday, June 26th. Abby & Tyrone will debut on Breakfast in July, with Muller’s new Drive co-host to be announced shortly.
