Russell Crowe has revealed that he's about to sign a record contract for the first time in almost two decades.

The Hollywood legend appeared on Hit Network's The Jimmy & Nath Show this week to promote 'Russell Crowe's Indoor Garden Party'. And the actor's singing shows seem to be the reason he's getting a record contract.

“The gigs this year generated a lot of interest man, so it actually looks like I’ll be signing a record contract for the first time in 17 years," he revealed to the hosts.

“We’ve got some festival things in Europe we’re doing next year, which are going to be like, ‘Holy, Sh*t!’, when people find out about what we’ve been invited to play.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Crowe said that music is "still my first love and greatest love," despite him being an Oscar winner. "It's all sliding doors," was how he put it about how he ended up being a famous actor rather than a swaggering singer.

'Russell Crowe's Indoor Garden Party' returns to Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast on Friday, January 19th. According to the event's creator, an 'Indoor Garden Party' is “an event, a band, a happening. It’s fluid. The personnel changes, but it’s always big. It’s like a festival where I gather people I admire, musicians and storytellers, and we put on a show.”

Crowe will be accompanied by The Gentlemen Barbers, Lorraine O’Reilly & Myth of Her, and he found time to practice with The Gentlemen Barbers between shooting films.

“There’s an attitude about this band. It’s got a groove," he says about The Gentlemen Barbers."We do a lot of story songs, but we also know we are here to blow out the cobwebs and give the audience a good night."
