Universal Music Australia have today announced the promotion of Nicole Richards to Head of Island Records Australia.

Mike Taylor and Darren Aboud, Universal Music Australia's Managing Directors, made the exciting announcement, with Nicole Richards' new role taking effect immediately.

This newly-created role will see Nicole moving on from her current role of Head of Australian Artists, and will involve her directing and overseeing areas of artist development and release strategies for the artists on Island Records Australia, both here and abroad.

Island Records Australia was first launched over a decade ago in 2007, and has since made a name for itself as the home to some of the countries best and brightest artists, including Boy & Bear, Matt Corby, Vera Blue, Dean Lewis, and Thundamentals, just to name a few.
