MusicNSW announces August Sound Advice masterclasses

MusicNSW announced four Sound Advice masterclasses for August.

They are all ticketed with limited capacity, and held at 107 Redfern St, in Redfern in Sydney.

AUGUST 11

Book It Yourself: DIY gigs & event marketing

Times: 10am-1pm

Andrew Perumalla from SBM Presents gives tips and tricks on how to book and market gigs in Sydney.

The session will provide an understanding of the current state of Sydney’s live scene and an action plan with everything you need to get people to shows.

Plan for your success: Strategic planning for your music career

Times: 2-5pm

Career coach and musician Jess Pollard (CareerSet) will teach a simple framework to put a big decision, music project or aspiration under the microscope and look through different lenses to identify the best moves going forward.

AUGUST 18

Publicise yourself: One-on-one press kit help

Participants book in a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with music publicists Bree Wilkinson (Inertia / Break Even Records) or Sammie Anschau (Beehive PR) to refine their bio, plan their best press shot and revamp their social media offering to perk up their press kit.

Planning your next release

ArowAgency’s Tamara Georgopoulos and Elizabeth Browne and Mel Cheng from One Louder management provide the lowdown in coming up with a release plan for an EP, album or single.

Taking in from releasing music to a full-scale online promotion, the session provides the poop on distribution, marketing timelines, publicity, social media strategies and seeking airplay
