Heart and sole: Missy Higgins performs on Studio Max

MAX channel is promising its biggest production to date when Missy Higgins performs with her seven-piece band in Studio Max on Sunday May 13.

She’ll perform songs from her new Solastalgia album, which has changed its release date and now comes out tomorrow (April 27).

Higgins changed the date so it would coincide with the first date of her 10-date tour.

She’s already released two tracks on preview: 'Red Moon' a “love song set after the apocalypse” and 'The Difference' which she says is “about not being afraid to make yourself heard.”

The tour kicks off on Wednesday May 2 at QPac Concert Hall in Brisbane (an addition after the first show on May 4 sold out) and ends on Monday May 14 at the second of two sold out Melbourne Palais shows.

Nine of the ten dates, which are opened by Gordi, have sold out.

The Studio Max show sees the inspirational 2 million album selling singer songwriter and band perform ‘Scar’, ‘Steer’, ‘Everyone’s Waiting’ and new singles ‘Futon Couch’ and ‘Cemetery’.

“For this instalment of Studio Max it’s the first time we’ve enhanced the show with full band and a bigger production – something that befits our support of Missy’s new album and her brilliant career to date.

“We’re looking forward very much to sharing Missy’s amazing performance on MAX or streaming on demand from Mothers’ Day.”

Higgins’ performance in Studio Max will take place at 11am and again at 4pm on Sunday May 13, and can also be streamed on demand.

Higgins recently  opened on Ed Sheeran’s mammoth Australian tour – at the personal invitation of the British singer songwriter who admitted he had a major crush on her after one of his earliest visits to Australia.
