GLOW Radio, a major new platform has been designed to amplify underrepresented Australian and New Zealand artists, has officially gone live today (March 4th).

The brand-new, 24/7 digital radio station is dedicated exclusively to Australian and New Zealand artists, broadcasting ad-free and independently curated. It hopes to set a new standard for inclusivity and representation in music, spotlighting women artists aged 35 and over, gender-diverse voices, and First Nations talent.

Designed to amplify underrepresented voices while celebrating the full depth and diversity of homegrown music, the station has launched online and via a free app. Its music-first approach means no ads or talk, just a continuous flow of songs, enhanced with clever branding and station IDs.

Each month, the station will feature an emerging talent as its Artist of the Month, providing a national platform for fresh voices. To extend its reach beyond radio, GLOW will also launch an official DSP playlist, giving listeners another way to discover and support featured artists on their preferred streaming platforms.

“GLOW Radio is more than just a station; it’s a movement. We’re creating a platform where Australia and New Zealand’s most loved artists and exciting emerging talent can finally be heard side by side, free from commercial constraints," said Project Manager Grant Gillies. "It’s time to put the spotlight back where it belongs, on the music."

The launch also introduces GLOW Stories, a vodcast content arm featuring a powerful new artist-conversation series. The concept pairs Australian and New Zealand women artists in intimate, peer-to-peer conversations, where they're invited to speak candidly with one another. The series will comprise 8 episodes featuring unexpected and compelling pairings.

The first episode features Missy Higgins in conversation with Gordi. The pair have a raw and expansive discussion about sexuality, identity, and the responsibility of writing songs drawn from real life. In it, Gordi reflects on navigating the pressures of sexuality and public perception, and how music became both an outlet and therapy, a parallel path to her work as a resident doctor, which she ultimately put on hold to fully pursue her art.

Meanwhile, Higgins reflects on the challenges of radical self-examination through songwriting.

GLOW Radio has been curated by a team of six independent music consultants, including industry veterans, Shaun Heron, Grant Gillies, Milly Petriella, Grant Donges, Mardi Caught and Nat Files. It will champion both new talent and some of Australia’s most iconic voices artists with enduring careers, beloved by audiences, and still creating powerful new music ready to be celebrated.

By giving these artists space, it addresses the growing demand for Australian and New Zealand content and challenges the outdated reliance on foreign-owned media and ineffective local quotas.
