Country music singer-songwriter Casey Barnes and rock band Eliza And The Delusionals wound up a strong 12 months each by dominating the Gold Coast Music Awards.

Both acts are also returning to tour the United States over the next few weeks.

Barnes, who took out Artist Of The Year for a third straight row was also inducted into the awards' Hall Of Fame – the second act to do so after Amy Shark who had the honour in 2019.

But he had a third reason to celebrate. The September 3 event at Home Of The Arts also marked his 44th birthday.

"Pretty decent birthday present," Barnes posted. "Thanks for all the birthday messages today guys. It's been a bloody good day."

His management company Chugg Music also sent its congratulations on his win and induction.

"It's been an amazing three years with Casey as he has risen into the ranks of Australia's premier country performers both here and in America,” said the company’s executive chairman Michael Chugg.

In recent weeks, Barnes was strong in chart activity with “Light It Up” still at No.2 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Country Albums Chart 27 weeks in, and “Get To Know Ya” back to No.1 on the iTunes country charts after Channel 7 used it as a promo on the latest series of “Farmer Wants A Wife.”

Eliza And The Delusionals who took Song Of The Year for “Save Me” recorded their debut album “Now And Then” which they dropped in May through Cooking Vinyl to critical acclaim, especially in the U.S.

A national tour in August was a sell-out, and they made waves on radio and on festivals.
