Coldplay have sold out their one-off Sydney show at the Enmore Theatre in under three minutes.

The Live Nation-promoted show was announced just three days ago in the lead-up to yesterday’s release of Ghost Stories in Australia.

The band’s sixth record - and Chris Martin’s most heart-on-sleeve collection of lyrics to-date - has already topped the album charts in over 100 countries. Locally, it’s #1 on the iTunes Albums chart, boasts three singles inside the Top 40 (Magic, A Sky Full Of Stars and Midnight) and was the #1 most added song at radio last week with A Sky Full Of Stars.

Speaking to TMN last week, Mark Poston, Managing Director of Coldplay’s label Parlophone Australia, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the launch campaign. What’s been so wonderful about this project is the care and attention to respect the aesthetic of the album, which has been driven by the band – and it’s something we at Parlophone have taken a lot of care and attention about.”

Coldplay will visit Australia from June 16-21, playing to a sold-out Enmore Theatre on June 19.
