This year’s ARIAs drew 337,000 viewers to Channel 9’s digital station Go!, with the black carpet segment catching 248,000.

This was a slight rise from last year’s 304,000 when the awards were held mid-week. The figures were not enough to get it listed in the night’s Top 20 watched shows.

It’s a long way from, say, 2006 when the event drew 1.26 million on free to air. Given that the show was a pop-based, TV-themed concept, it’ll be interesting to see which acts benefit from a sales surge when the ARIA midweek charts are released today.
