Independent Chart Wrap: The Waifs score #1 debut

The Carlton Dry Independent Singles chart sees Mec Mac’s Never Be hold fast at #1 ahead of Hermitude and Sia, who have both been dominating the charts for the better part of the past two months. Moving up to #2 from #5 is former #1, Hermitude’s The Buzz featuring Mataya & Young Tapz. The jump marks the only notable movement in the Top 10 this week. The Jungle Giants earn a new peak at #12 with Kooky Eyes which moves up from #13. Three new debuts make their way into the Top 20: Kucka’s Honey is at #17, Kucka’s Flux 98 is at #19 and Big Scary’s Organism is at #20.

AIR Radio Play

Meg Mac’s Never Be remains at the top of the Radio Play charts as well this week, holding #1, while Big Scary’s Organism remains at #2. The Jungle Giants enjoy a strong re-entry at #3 with Kooky Eyes while Ngaiire’s Once finds a new peak at #4 from #7. The same can be said for Ayla’s Waiting at #5 from #16, marking a new peak for her as well. Seth Sentry’s Dumb climbs to #11 from #20, just landing short of its previous peak of #10. In regards to debuts, L-FRESH The LION’s Get Mine featuring Parvyn Kaur Singh debuts at #6 while Courtney Barnett’s Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party enters at #14.

AIR Albums

A new #1 debut makes its way into the Albums chart this week, that being The Waifs’ Beautiful You. Andrew Hagger’s VIVID enters at #4 while The Basics’ The Age Of Entitlement debuts at #6. Kucka’s Unconditional sees a debut of #11, while Jess Ribeiro’s Kill It Yourself debuts at #14. The Waifs also enjoy a re-entry at #17 this week with Up All Night.
