Hot 100 Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off and Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass are still at war with Swift regaining the lead at #1 and pushing Trainor’s All About That Bass back down to #2. Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame remains at #3 for another week, still waiting to make a move into the Top 2. That day may never come if Swift and Trainor’s constant fight for #1 continues over the next few weeks. A new #5 is seen in the form of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud. It was only a matter of time before this track broke through that bracket given the ridiculous amount of spotlight and sales he has received in the past few weeks whilst he’s been in the country on his promo tour.  Alesso’s Heroes moves into the Top 10 and reaches a new peak at #8 whilst Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang just manages to stay at #10 after falling from last week’s #5. Some high movers this week have been Hillary Duff’s All About You, which moves up from #40 to #29 and should be breaking the Top 20 in roughly two weeks; One Direction’s Steal My Girl, which climbs to #24 after last week’s debut at #48 and Avicii’s Addicted To You, which jumps from #86 to #57, a total of 29 positions and is also this week’s most moved track. The Top 50 also sees some fairly strong debuts from One Republic’s I Lived which comes in at #47, Lorde’s Yellow Flicker Beat at #39 and Avicii’s The Days which enters at #37. ARIA Singles This week’s Singles chart sees the same Top 4 with The Veronicas’ You Ruin Me sitting at #1 now in its third week at the top spot, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud at #2, Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass at #3 and Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off at #4. The first bit of movement occurs with Timmy Trumpet & Savage’s Freaks moving up to #5 from #6, two spots short of its highest peak at #3. Echosmith’s Cool Kids managed to make some ground, moving up one position to #7, a new peak for the track. Becky G’s Shower also enjoys a new peak this week at #14, up from last week’s #19. Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong makes a re-entry into the chart following the release of their album Black Star Elephant. ARIA Albums Ed Sheeran remains at #1 this week with X taking the top spot for it’s fifth week interrupted now. It’s been a stellar month for Sheeran with an incredibly successful promo tour under his belt and an ARIA nomination for the Best International Artist. Frozen’s soundtrack moves back up to #2 as Barbra Streisand’s Partners falls to #3. At #4 this week is a new debut from American country group Lady Antebellum with 747, becoming the trio’s fourth ARIA Top 10 appearance. Another new debut is seen at #14 from Augie March’s Havens Dumb. The album is their first appearance in the chart since their album Watch Me Disappear peaked at #4 in October of 2008. At #17 is a debut from Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz and their album Black Star Elephant. This is their second studio album and their first appearance in the ARIA Albums chart. The album sales have also influenced the ARIA Singles chart with their hit single Am I Wrong making a re-entry at #17. For the rundown in full, subscribe to the charts.
