Hot 100

Ed Sheeran holds #1 for his fifth week in a row with Thinking Out Loud but it could be his last given the rise of new competition in the Top 10. At #2 is Alesso’s Heroes which is up from #4 and replaces Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which has fallen to #7 this week. At #3 is a new peak for Meghan Trainor’s Lips Are Movin, which has only been in the chart for three weeks. Also hitting a new peak at #4 is The Script’s Superheroes; the same can be said for Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding’s Outside which sits at #5 up from #7. Outside isn’t his only single in the Top 10, with Blame featuring John Newman sitting at #8 after dropping from #3. Outside of the Top 10, Nico & Vinz’s In Your Arms draws closer to breaking the Top 10 after moving up to #12 from #20 and is on track to hit the top bracket come next week’s chart. Parra For Cuva & Anna Naklab’s Wicked Games continues its spree of gains up the chart landing at #16 from #27 and Peking Duk’s Take Me Over featuring Safia just manages to scrape into the Top 20, landing at #20 from #28.

Some big movers this week come from The Veronicas with If You Love Someone landing at #13 from #42, Kendrick Lamar’s i which sits at #38 up from #62 and Generik’s The Weekend featuring Nicky Van She, which is up at #36 from last week’s #90 debut. The most moved track however, was Sam Smith’s Like I Can which is now sitting at #25 up from last week’s #84, a total movement of 59 positions. The main notable debut this week comes from Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk, which debuts at #18.

ARIA Singles

In what’s quite uncommon for the ARIA Singles chart, this week sees two uncharacteristically high debuts in the Top 5. At #3 is a new entry from Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? which is followed by Will Sparks’ Ah Yeah So What featuring Wiley & Elen Levon which debuts at #4. Outside the Top 10 Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars debuts at #11. Aside from the high debuts, the chart has a new #1 in the form of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, which earns the top spot after just three weeks in the chart. Up at a new peak of #9 is One Direction’s Steal My Girl which breaks the Top 10 up from #11.  Just sitting outside the Top 10 is Parra for Cuva & Anna Naklab’s Wicked Games which is now at #14 from #26.

ARIA Albums

This week’s new #1 on the Albums chart is One Direction’s Four which manages to keep Taylor Swift’s 1989 at #2 for another week. At #3 is the debut from Nickelback’s No Fixed Address, which fell short of enough sales to topple Swift. #9 sees a new debut from Kerser with King just managing to enter within the Top 10.  At #11 is the latest debut from Garth Brooks with Man Against Machine. Michael Buble re-enters the chart at #14 with Christmas and The Ghost Inside’s Dear Youth debuts at #16.
