Amrap Chart Wrap - Emma Donovan & Tame Impala Top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees numerous musicians enter the charts for the first time.

Emma Donovan & the PutBacks have re-emerged at #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with the blues soaked tones of Black Woman, also taking #9 in the Metro stakes. The talented funk soul sister and crew have received airplay in every state and territory at stations including 2XX FM in ACT, Gove FM in NT, 4EB in QLD, Huon FM, City Park Radio and 97.1 FM in TAS, Wangki Yupurnanupurru, Tjuma Pulka Media Aboriginal Corporation and Heritage FM in WA, 5UMA, Tribe FM, Fleurieu FM and Hills Radio in SA, Bega Community Radio and Northside Radio in NSW, as well as Melton Community Radio, Main FM, 3WBC, 3RPC and 3SER in VIC.

Tame Impala have jumped to #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Eventually. The panoramic single has picked up a spot in 2ser Sydney’s SERvin’ Up list and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, and the new record Currents has been Local Feature on RTR FM Perth and Album of the Week on FBi Radio Sydney. Airling has continued her strong run in the Amrap Metro Chart, coming in at #2 with Stallin’. The expansive single has hit a sweet spot with metropolitan stations, picking up places in 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection, SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and rotation on FBi Radio Sydney. The track has received further airplay at CAAMA Radio in NT, Valley FM in QLD, Edge Radio and Tyga FM in TAS, 5YYY, 5GTR and Hills Radio in SA, 6DBY and Harvey Community Radio in WA, Voice FM, Southern FM and JOY FM in VIC, and also Triple H, 2RRR, 2SEA, 2RDJ and Hawkesbury Radio in NSW.

Katie Noonan has entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #3 with the delicate melodies of Quicksand. Sydney pop duo Mezko have joined the ranks of the Amrap Metro Chart with Golden, as featured in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 list. Their – literally – golden film clip can be viewed on station websites including 2XX FM ACT, RTR FM Perth, FBi Radio and 2RRR Sydney. The stratospheric pop single has received further airplay at Valley FM in QLD, Vox FM in NS,W 3NRG in VIC, as well as 5THE, Three D Radio and 5GTR in SA.

Perth folk veterans The Waifs are back, entering the Amrap Regional Chart at #4 with the raw single 6000 Miles. The buoyant harmonies have been enjoyed by stations all over including Fleurieu FM in SA, Tjuma Pulka Media Aboriginal Corporation in WA, Valley FM and 4DDB in QLD, Phoenix FM, Apple FM, JOY FM and 3RPC in VIC, as well as Highland FM, Macarthur Community Radio and 2AIR in NSW.

SAFIA have blitzed the Amrap Regional and Metro Chart with their crisp techno of Embracing Me coming in at #5 in both charts. The single has received airplay across the country at stations including CAAMA Radio in NT, Switch 1197 and Valley FM in QLD, RTR FM and Twin Cities FM in WA, 5YYY, 5GTR and 5THE in SA, 3NRG, SYN and Gippsland FM in VIC, and also Byron Bay FM, 2RRR, 2AIR, 2SSR, 2TLC and Tune! FM in NSW.
