A bill has been introduced to parliament that could see the end of the lockout laws.

Deputy premier John Barilaro has support from at least eight cabinet ministers to scrap the 1:30 am lockout time by the end of this year.

"Pointing the finger of blame at a music festival is much easier than risking your political credibility to take a course of action that has scientific evidence behind it and would actually save lives."

The night will feature a discussion hosted by SBS Viceland’s Jan Fran, Sydney deputy lord mayor Jess Miller, Anna Burns and Tyson Koh.
