This year's whopping 62 awards will celebrate the very best live acts across Australia.

A hundred members, ministers, senators and Parliament House staff were on hand at the second NSW Parliamentary Friends of Australian Music (PFOAM) event.

Beloved Australian comedian and writer Denise Scott is back for hosting duties in 2018.

The band will now receive the support of up to $12,000 towards a pub tour, $3,000 towards a dedicated tour publicist and a mentoring session with an APRA AMCOS industry ambassador.

Now in its sixth year, the mentorship program partners emerging Aussie managers with established and successful managers for a six to 12-month mentorship.

Qantas start quietly removing music from in-flight entertainment in July, saying that less than 10% of passengers were tuning in. But APRA AMCOS Dean Ormston has hit back, saying they're "not seeing the opportunity to celebrate Australian songwriters and composers through better, researched curation."

The $15,000 prize package also includes the tour, a dedicated tour publicist and mentoring sessions with industry experts.
