Following the news that no white men were among the nominees for this year's Album Of The Year award at this year's Grammy Awards, music-lovers and industry types were undoubtedly eager to see just who managed to receive music's highest honours at the 60th annual ceremony.
Of course, everyone had their eyes on folks such as Jay-Z, who scored an impressive eight nominations, Kendrick Lamar, with seven nominations, Bruno Mars, with six, and Childish Gambino, SZA, No I.D., and Khalid, who all went in with five nominations.
However, as the night went on, it became incredibly clear just who the big winners were, with Bruno Mars taking home Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year, while Alessia Cara took home the Best new Artist title.
Ed Sheeran understandably took home the awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance, while Portugal. The Man have gone from Big Day Out alumni, to winners of the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award in just a matter of years.
On the heavier side of things, Mastodon took home the Best Metal Performance for 'Sultan’s Curse', while Foo Fighters' 'Run' won Best Rock Song. The War On Drugs' A Deeper Understanding was named Best Rock Album, while The National's Sleep Well Beast won best Alternative Music Album.
Notably, the late Leonard Cohen (rather confusingly) won the award for Best Rock Performance for the title track from his final album, You Want It Darker, released only a matter of months before his 2016 passing.
