Voting for the 28th annual ARIA Awards is scheduled to take place from 9am tomorrow.

The process is as follows:

From July 1, the ARIA board reviewed all membership applications; those applications were put forward by artists, record companies, CD distributors and manufacturers.

Each application will be voted on by a judging academy of over 800 members of the music industry from tomorrow. The academy has evolved over the last 27 years to include judges from all sectors of the music industry - retail, radio and TV, journalists and critics, TV presenters, promoters, agents, ARIA member record companies and past ARIA winners.

All ARIA winners will be decided by the academy aside from four awards – Song of the Year, Best Video, Best Australian Live Act and Best International Act - which are publicly voted.

The nominees - the five most popular in each category - will be announced at the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney next month. An official date is still to be announced.

Voting closes at 7pm Monday September 15.
