Right from their name down to their smart-casual dress sense you could pin Little Odessa as Little Red knock-offs. It doesn’t hurt the comparison that the band take plenty of inspiration from pop classicists like The Beatles and Elvis Costello, packing their tunes with plenty of hip-swivelling rhythms, smiley hooks and head bobbling energy.

Though the Rubber Soul force remains strong with this Queensland group, there’s a frayed-edged quality to their precise-pop, a nice garage rattle soaking every hand-clap and ‘woo-hoo.’ That’s especially the case in Little Odessa’s latest jam, All Night; when the band hit the two-minute mark the tune lurches into a real roar.
