Unearthed has fostered some impressive Australian electronic talent over the years (folks like Flume, Wave Racer and RUFUS all uploaded their first tunes to the website) and the flood of emerging producers doesn’t seem to be abating anytime soon.

The latest dance act worthy of particular praise is Perth duo Slumberjack. The twosome of Morgan Then and Fletcher Ehlers have been chipping away with productions for the last year or so now and with each tune they’ve shown an incredible gift for adaptability with successful takes on driving electro, muted neo-soul and some technicolour stuff with their mate Sable. It’s the duo’s latest joint that has got me reeling though; Felon is an absolute smasher which manages to bring in all of the Slumberjack duo’s strengths into a single production. Felon skitters along with some soft trance-ish synths and piano tinkles before a manic, malfunctioning drop destroys everything in sight besides some clever robo-ragga vocal samples.
