TEG, owner of Ticketek and a suite of live events assets, has tapped the Managing Director of Ticketek New Zealand to head up its new division in Asia.

Brendon Bainbridge spent 11 years in the head role at Ticketek New Zealand. He will relocate to TEG Asia’s Singapore base later this year to manage all TEG operations in Asia.

As Managing Director of TEG Asia, Bainbridge will lead all of TEG’s ticketing and live entertainment activities in the region, including the running of TicketCharge, the #1 ticketing company in Malaysia acquired by TEG in July.

Drawing on 16 years’ international business experience, including roles at Marriott Hotels in the US, Bainbridge is tasked with turning TEG into an international promoter and service producer.

TEG CEO Geoff Jones said:

“Brendon has done a fabulous job running Ticketek New Zealand, he knows the sports and entertainment industry inside out and he gets what TEG’s strategy is all about,” said Jones.

“He has the leadership and vision to make TEG Asia a big growth story for the company. I am delighted to make this appointment of a trusted and long-standing colleague.”

“There are so many opportunities opening up in the Asian entertainment market,” added Bainbridge. “I have complete confidence that TEG has the knowledge and technology platforms to make a big impact.

“This is a great export story about taking the know-how developed in Australia and New Zealand and competing on a global stage. I am thrilled to have this opportunity and I thank Geoff for his confidence in me.”

Former New Zealand Rugby League exec takes Bainbridge's Ticketek role

Taking Bainbridge's place as MD at Ticketek New Zealand is Trina Tamati. Tamati steps into the role with more than two decades of marketing, commercial and event director experience in New Zealand, the UK, Europe and Australia.

Tamati was most recently the CEO of the NRL Auckland Nines rugby league tournament and previously worked at the New Zealand Rugby League.

The two appointments follow TEG's announcement of a strategic alliance with Division Agency.

Headed by Jason Ayoubi and Scott Robertson - the driving force behind Future Music Festival and Summadayze - the partnership will see the pair promote national tours and events featuring electronic dance music acts.
