Coincidentally, the coverage further put Australian music and Adelaide-based artist Tkay Maidza on the global map with her track U-Huh acting as the sound bed for the official video announcement. The spot originally appeared on Instagram’s social accounts and also their Vimeo.

U-Huh was penned by Maidza and Luke McKay, her live DJ, the producer behind U-Huh and her 2015-released single MOB, and a co-writer on her upcoming debut LP.

Following McKay’s recent worldwide signing to Dew Process Publishing, U-Huh was pitched specifically for the Instagram spot by LA-based Jeannette Perez, Head Of Global Sync for Dew Process’ partner Kobalt.

Interestingly, the deal follows the track’s license to the US Twitter campaign to promote its ‘Moments’ feature. Upon release, Moments also made headlines for its similarities to Snapchat and Instagram’s Stories feature.

U-Huh, released in 2014 and included on Maidza’s EP Switch Tape, has generated over 2 million streams globally.
