As TV show The Voice expands next year to become both an adults and kids series, Universal Music Australia has brought in Robert Rigby as Executive Manager of A&R for The Voice. He will work with Mercury GM Peter Karpin.
Rigby, the one time Managing Director at WEA Records at Warner Music, has more recently been running Ambition, the label he set up in 2009. It was responsible for the Platinum breakthrough of Russell Morris’ Sharkmouth, as well as recent albums from the likes of Renee Geyer, Tina Arena, and Wendy Matthews.
“Robert has proven himself to be an expert at identifying opportunities for and with artists and I know his expertise will add real value to our broader A&R activities,” President, Universal Music Asia Pacific, Universal Music Group George Ash said of the appointment.
