Five recording grants of $15,000 are now available via the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) and the Australia Council for the Arts.

The five recipients will be able to use the money to create new sound recordings.

Applications are open now and close in April.

Annabelle Herd, PPCA CEO, said: "PPCA's partnership with the Australia Council has helped so many Australian artists develop their careers and release a variety of amazing albums that have made a huge impact on the industry and the Australian songbook.

"As we focus on increasing the prominence and discoverability of Australian music, we are very proud to support this wonderful partnership and celebrate their continued dedication to fostering our nation's creative and diverse musical talent."

Kirsty Rivers, Australia Council's head of music, added: "The Australia Council is delighted to be partnering with PPCA to present a 10th round of recording grants, supporting Australian artists at critical moments in their careers. Recoding and documenting Australian music is central to how we as a nation tell our stories to the world.

"As we establish Music Australia and support the music industry to grow we can be proud that, through this partnership, we have a rich history of helping so many artists create new sound recordings."
