Metal label Octane Records, which launched in August last year, has locked in a digital distribution deal with global technology and marketing company, Ingrooves.

The deal comes as Octane expands its label roster, most recently with Brisbane group The Stranger, who are releasing their second album in April. Vanishing Point and Silent Knight are also recent signees to the label.

"Ingrooves are very happy to announce this new deal with Octane Records. We are always excited to champion new music and new business ventures and look forward to helping Octane develop their position in the heavy music market," Ingrooves Australian labels manager Rick Butterworth said in a statement.

Octane was founded by promoter Bailey Graham and veteran music publicist Chris Maric.

"It's with the utmost pleasure that I can announce that Octane Records will be digitally distributed by the Universal Music-owned powerhouse that is Ingrooves," Graham said.

"Rick Butterworth and his team have been an immense help since the foundation of Octane Records and I'm thrilled we can take this next step together as we work together to build a stronger, bolder and more unique online presence for the label's growing roster of Australian heavy music artists."
