APRA AMCOS Lighthouse Award

Applications have opened for the $5,000 Lighthouse Award grant, coordinated by APRA AMCOS.

The annual grant is available to a female or non-binary artist manager based anywhere in Australia that exhibits "passion, creativity and integrity". Funding from the grant is meant to be used for professional development, such as business-related travel, education or equipment purchases.

The Lighthouse Award was established in memory of artist manager Linda Gebar, who died in 2008. Gebar's career saw her work with The Killjoys, Frente and The Blackeyed Susans. She also held roles at the now-closed Punters Club in Melbourne, community broadcaster PBS FM and APRA AMCOS, in addition to her own label.

"We're proud to see Linda's legacy reflected through The Lighthouse Award, and it's amazing to see how the recipients have contributed to the landscape of Australian music through their hard work and vision," APRA AMCOS head of member services, Jana Gibson, said in a statement.

Previous recipients of the Lighthouse Award include musician and Milk! Records founder Jen Cloher, Our Golden Friend's Lorrae McKenna, Hear Hear's Charlotte Abroms and last year's winner Maggie Collins.

Applications close April 6 at 5pm, with the recipient announced the following month.
