The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) has confirmed the return of its Indie-Con Australia conference, today releasing the full program for its 2021 event.

The hybrid event will be held at Adelaide's Freemasons Hall from Wednesday, August 4 - Friday, August 6, coinciding with the previously announced AIR Awards on the Thursday evening.

This year's Indie-Con program will address a broad range of topics, including how to navigate NFTs as an artist, composing music for gaming and sync, live-streaming platforms and licensing, deconstructing the role of A&Rs and more.

Each topic will feature discussions with industry professionals, artists and indie label representatives, while a host of online, on-demand presentations from ARIA, APRA AMCOS, PPCA, Bolster, Single Music and Noisehive will also be offered.

Speakers to appear at the conference include Jaguar Jonze, Emily Ulman (Isol-Aid), Nathan McLay (Future Classic), Anika Ostendorf (Milk! Records), Rachel Jones-Williams (Dirty Hit Records), Will Evans (Bandcamp) and more.

Indie-Con Australia is free for all AIR members to attend, while members of other Australian music industry bodies and public attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets.

South Australian Minister for Innovation and Skills, David Pisoni, said that the commercial focus of this year's Indie-Con would help drive the reboot of the national independent recorded music sector.

“Adelaide is proud to host Indie-Con with its focus on encouraging greater commercial opportunities for Australia’s thriving independent music sector by building important industry and business networks," Pisoni said.
