"It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Homebake 2013 has been cancelled", reads a statement from Homebake organisers released this morning, citing the move from the Domain to a three-day event at the Opera House as being the reason.

"Over the last 4 weeks since the initial launch of Homebake 2013, it has become apparent based on the feedback from social media sites and the box office that the traditional Homebake fans have rejected this change in format from one day to three nights and the change in venue."

Organisers also stated the scheduling of Harvest Festival at the Domain two weeks before the proposed 2013 date forced the unpopular venue and format change. The statement called Harvest’s cancellation shortly before Homebake’s announcement of their venue/format change "achingly ironic".

Refunds will be automatically administered by the Sydney Opera House Box Office, while Oztix ticket buyers should contact Oztix.
