Support Act's Head First conference postponed to 2022

Support Act has announced that its inaugural Head First conference will not go ahead in 2021.

Billed as the Australian music industry's first-ever mental health conference, the event was initially slated to go down at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) in Surry Hills on July 29, before being postponed to October due to Sydney's COVID outbreak.

Now, Support Act has confirmed that the conference will be delayed until 2022, with CEO Clive Miller citing the ongoing lockdowns and interstate travel restrictions as being too difficult to work around.

“We are so disappointed to have to postpone the conference once again, but we very much want delegates to meet face-to-face and get the full benefit of such a rich and varied mental health program,” Miller said.

The charity is currently working towards announcing a new date for Head First in 2022, with all ticketholders urged to hold onto their tickets until further notice.

Head First was to revolve around the four pillars of health, future, workplace and culture, including discussions about sexual health and safety within the industry, burnout, resilience and work/life balance, and the price of musical ambition.
