Congrats to Hockey Dad, who crashed into this week's ARIA Albums chart at #6 with their new album Blend Inn.
They are the first band from Wollongong to land in the Top 10 since 1995, when Galactaphonic from Tumbleweed (also) hit #6.
Frenzal Rhomb guitarist -- and newly-minted host of the drive show on 97.3 ABC Illawarra -- Lindsay McDougall pointed this feat out on Twitter, and we've since checked it out, and it seems legit.
Having said that, if Swoop hails from Tarrawanna or something and we forgot about them, let us know (email me).
Hockey Dad are the highest-charting Australian album of the week too, which is pretty impressive. Plus, they've also managed to sell out every single date of their upcoming Aussie tour. Congrats, lads.
