This arresting, beautiful ballad is the most sophisticated-yet-simple song Goulding has released to date, and, as such, was the seventh most added track at Australian radio last week, before an official service.

In terms of structure, the track is wonderfully slight, coming in at under three minutes, with no chorus to speak of. Goulding’s unaffected vocal delivery infuses the simple, heartfelt lyrics with an honesty that could have easily been trampled by a more histrionic vocalist.

This track features on Richard Curtis’ About Time, and for a director who deals in unabashed sentimentality, this heart-on-sleeve song is the perfect choice. Hopefully How Long Will I Love You will be Goulding’s big breakthrough in the US market.
