A NYC-based doctor infected with Ebola attended a Brooklyn nightclub last week at the annual CMJ Music Marathon.

Apparently, Dr. Craig Spencer visited Brooklyn nightclub/bowling alley The Gutter the night before he was admitted to hospital. While The Gutter is an unofficial CMJ venue, organisers of the ‘showcase week’ throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn have released a statement:

"We have been diligently following the news on Ebola and will continue to be proactive of the situation and circumstances. At this time CMJ will continue on as scheduled and if anything should change we will act accordingly."

The Gutter closed its doors for three days last week while the NYC Health Department cleaned the venue. Owners issued a statement on Facebook, in which they say they were told by the Health Department that punters and staff “were at no risk”.

A number of Australian acts are currently in the US attending and performing the convention and music festival; they include: My Fiction, Kate Miller-Heidke, The Delta Riggs, SAFIA, Fishing, Little May, Saskwatch, Okenyo, Fractures, Tkay Maidza, Bad//Dreems, DMA’s and The Cairos.
