Double J Welcomes New 'Friday Mornings' Host Following Zan Rowe Departure

Acclaimed DJ, curator, and radio presenter Tom Ravenscroft has joined Double J to take on hosting duties of Friday Mornings following the departure of Zan Rowe.

With over three decades spent deep in the world of underground music, Ravenscroft is a true music obsessive set to bring some fresh Friday energy to Mornings. He previously spent 16 years with BBC Radio 6 Music, where he earned a reputation for guiding listeners through music with warmth, curiosity, and insight.

At Double J, he will "move effortlessly between sounds, styles, and genres", contextualising fresh cuts with tastefully selected classics and long-lost faves. It’s an approach shaped by years on air and a DJ career that began at free parties and has taken him to iconic venues and major festivals around the world.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Double J family, a station with such a strong musical spirit and sense of community," he said of his appointment. "I look forward to sharing all my favourite new discoveries and exploring all the great music Australia has to offer."

Rowe will be back on Double J with a new season of Take 5 with Zan Rowe, kicking off on Thursday, March 12th from 7pm.

Plus, Double J is welcoming a new program to the lineup: The Dinner Mix. The program is described as "a hand curated selection of tunes designed to heat up your kitchen or get you in the mood for sharing food with loved ones", hosted by Adalita. It will kick off on Thursday, March 5th from 6pm.

Comedian and former triple j Drive host Michael Hing is back at the helm of Double J Mornings, Monday-Thursday from 9am. Karen Leng returns to Lunch from 12pm, Monday-Friday, while Dylan Lewis is driving listeners home on Arvos from 3pm weekdays, with his daily dose of chaos and the tunes you can’t get enough of.
