The announcement comes in the wake of his sold-out show in Cairns, during which he forgot lyrics and at one point, fell off his stool.

The remainder of Dan Sultan’s Killer solo tour has been postponed after the singer-songwriter posted on social media: “I am taking stock of my personal situation and am seeking professional help."

This was in the wake of his sold-out show in Cairns at Tanks Art Centre last Saturday, during which the crowd was restless as he rambled on, forgot lyrics and at one point fell off his stool.

Sultan apologised to fans and to the venue, and called his behaviour "inexcusable and disrespectful" and made amends by offering refunds.

Yesterday his management announced:

“In light of current circumstances, we have decided to postpone the remainder of Dan’s Killer solo tour.

“We apologise to Dan’s fans for any inconvenience this may cause.

“Dan’s health and wellbeing is our highest priority at this time and we thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.

“We hope to reschedule the postponed dates once Dan makes a full recovery.

“While we encourage fans to hold onto their tickets which will be valid for entry to the rescheduled shows, the option to secure a refund is also available via the ticketing outlet or venue from which tickets were purchased.”
