Following multiple reports that Mark Poston is to leave his post as Managing Director of Parlophone Australia and Warner Bros Records Australia, Warner Music has confirmed the news with TMN.

Poston, former Chairman of EMI Music Australia, leaves the double role after less than a year. Parlophone was sold to Warner for US$765 million as a requisite of Universal’s acquisition last year of EMI.

Reports suggest Poston accepted a redundancy package before his current jaunt to Europe, as part of a restructure at the major.

During Poston’s time at EMI Music Australia and EMI UK, the lauded industry figure has been credited with developing the careers of local artists including Empire of the Sun and international acts like Kylie, Coldplay and Lily Allen.
