Melbourne blues musician Ash Grunwald has been nominated for an LA Music Critic Award.

Nominated for International Artist of the Year, Grunwald is up against Swedish electro duo Marching Band for the award, which recognises artists’ accomplishments for the first half of 2014.

Grunwald recently finished his debut tour of the US with fellow Victorian artist Xavier Rudd and is set to kick off a national tour on August 15.

The LA Music Critics Awards are the brainchild of Bob Leggett, a music and theatre critic most renowned for his contributions to US-based website Examiner.com and for founding the So Cal Music Live Awards.

The winner will be announced August 1.
