Adelaide-born songwriter Thanh Bui hit #1 on the Korean Albums chart last week. Bui lent his songwriting chops to K-pop outfit BTS (aka Bangtang Boys) for a track on their latest LP release Dark & Wild.

Bui, who is signed to independent Sydney-based publisher Rowley Music, worked with the group’s producers J Dogg and Bang on the album’s lead single Danger, which peaked at #2 on K-pop chart M Countdown, where it currently sits at #8.

Dark & Wild also hit #3 on Billboard’s World Albums chart early last week and a significant Japanese chart position is expected to follow.

Publisher David Rowley told TMN, “This is just the latest of many international cuts for Thanh -  who’s had previous releases with artists in Germany, Spain, Korea, Japan and Canada but there’s nothing like a #1”.

Bui is currently writing with Black Eyed Peas member apl.de.ap, Pitbull, producer AJ Junior and British songwriter Wayne Hector (One Direction, Nicki Minaj).

Bui also co-wrote the debut single for apl.de.ap’s first signing to his pan-Asian Warner-distributed label BMBX; Jessica Reynoso’s Just Like You is due for full promotion this month.
