The release of Vera Blue's latest pop banger 'Lie To Me' comes as the Aussie singer-songwriter signs a label deal for the USA with Republic Records.

Her latest single is a pulsating and driving effort, with her unmistakable vocals at its centre, and was co-written with Thom and Andy Mak.

Vera Blue, real name Celia Pavey, emerges on this track as a global pop powerhouse, with Republic Records recognising her potential to replicate her star in Australia overseas.

“The lyrics and melodies that I wrote with Thom came from a more poetic and obscure experimental place for both of us," she says.

"With Andy digging into new exciting sonic landscapes imitating the raw emotion and Jackson bringing the tones to life tracking various instruments through the amazing sounding console and outboard gear at The Grove Studios. This song had us all wide-eyed and buzzing.”

While coronavirus keeps touring on halt, Vera Blue will perform 'Lie To Me' exclusively for YouTube Music Sessions, in partnership with ARIA, and recorded at Studios 301.

The performance takes place next Wednesday, August 26 at 7pm AEST.

Blue says the song captures a vocal maturity that she's developed after three years of relentless live performances, including major festivals like Splendour and Lollapalooza.

“I recently watched some vision of myself when I first started performing – my voice was so sweet and innocent!" she explains.

"I could not have reached the belting moments at the end of ‘Lie To Me’ back then. My voice is stronger than it ever has been which enhances what we create in the studio."
