Niche Productions has signed upcoming Australian hip-hop act Jalmar to its booking roster.

The Melbourne-based rapper, who is managed by Astral People, will be represented by the Sydney-based independent agency for all Australian and New Zealand bookings.

The deal comes weeks after the release of Jalmar's debut single 'Mico Rijo' via The Orchard, which blends contemporary trap aesthetics with Latin instrumentation as a nod to his Chilean heritage.

Niche Productions booking agent Matt Thomson celebrated Jalmar's Latin twist on conventional Australian hip-hop and welcomed him to the company's touring roster.

"Dan, myself and the rest of the Niche team are so excited to welcome Jalmar to the agency roster," Thomson said.

"We believe that Jalmar is leading the charge of artists celebrating their cultural background while still making music that’s inherently Australian. We’re certain that you’ll be seeing Jalmar on stages in Australia and across the globe."

Jalmar also expressed his own elation about signing with the Niche Productions booking roster, which includes Sampa The Great, Hiatus Kaiyote, Genesis Owusu and Jordan Rakei.
