One of Australia's most storied country artists Lee Kernaghan is already garnering support at radio for his latest ditty.

'Wheels' is a typically catchy cut from Kernaghan, lifted from his forthcoming album Backroad Nation which is due out in May.

The tune is a driving, riff-driven effort by the country veteran, who topped the TMN 2017 Annual Country chart with his single 'Drive On'.

"This album has taken me to places I haven’t been before musically," said Kernaghan.

"I've pushed every element of this record to the absolute limits and have collaborated with some of the finest writers and music makers in the world today."

The release of the tune comes with a music video to boot, filmed in outback Australia in oppressive 46-degree heat.

"It was pretty inhospitable conditions out there. It was the middle of summer in the middle of the desert; so dry and dusty it was even too hot for the flies!"

The tune is this week's CMC Country Pick and has been added across-the-board to Triple M Country.

With backing like that, this latest release could have the 'Wheels' to become Kernaghan's seventh #1 on the TMN Country Airplay Chart.
