Polo G has risen through the ranks of Chicago's competitive hip hop scene with speed.

Since the release of his debut album Die A Legend almost 12 months ago, the American rapper has garnered the respect of critics and fans for his emotive brand of storytelling.

The album debuted at #6 on the US Billboard 200 chart upon release and found itself on coveted end of year lists from The New York Times, Rolling Stone and Stereogum.

With over two billion streams, Polo G mourned his fallen family members and friends on Die A Legend, and now follows it up less than a year later with The Goat.

Arriving at retail last Friday (May 15,) the new record is a celebration of the life and legacy of those in his inner circle that formed the theme of his debut.

Polo G launched the new album campaign during All Star Weekend, a celebration in his hometown of Chicago, concluding with a special benefit concert.

That fundraiser was dedicated to kids fighting depression and also honoured the late JuiceWRLD, who features on 'Flex', a track from Polo G's new album.
