Bass producer Luude joins 'cutting edge' Sweat It Out stable

Australian-based producer and EDM act Luude has joined the Sweat It Out stable, through which he’s released the double A-side ‘Luudooskins’.

“I always want to be making stuff that feels exciting - and I’ve been working on this next phase for Luude for a while, just trying to find all the right elements,” he said.

“So while Choomba (his other project) was doing its thing last year I’ve been really refining the Luue project and I couldn’t be happier to launch into it with Sweat It Out a label who is always on the cutting edge of Australian dance music.”

Born Christian Benson in Tasmania to the son of a guitar shredder, he picked up drums at high school before moving to Perth where an Avicii video on YouTube inspired him to try producing.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Luude has generated 30 million streams since uploading a track to SoundCloud, and sells out his tours like the Blade Runner / Cyberpunk-inspired The Dark Room which swelled from a handful of shows to 27 dates.

He’s become a worldwide festival attraction and gained early support from Skrillex, Example, RL Grime, Getter, Borgore, The Chainsmokers, Marshmello and Jauz.

In 2018 when he played India, he was startled to be met at the airport by fans and showered with gifts at his hotel, as well as in China and the US.

Choomba was formed with his cousin Tim Benson (“a stupid name that came from a running joke we have”) during a mad week in Amsterdam as a more house-orientated project.

Their work has been endorsed by tastemakers such as The Magician, Claude Von Stroke, Richie Hawtin, Claptone, Riva Starr and Erick Morillo.
