Chart Wrap: Beyonce debuts at #1 despite Prince’s purple reign

Lukas Graham now sits at #1 for their eighth week with 7 Years, leading ahead of Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home ft. Ty Dolla $ign at #2, which also stays put for another week.

Gnash takes a new peak at #3 from #4 with I Hate U I Love U ft. Olivia O’Brien, followed by Dua Lipa’s Be The One at #4 from #9. Pink makes the last notable move at #10 from #22 with new hit Just Like Fire, likely hitting the Top 5 come this week’s chart.

DNCE’s Cake By The Ocean is showing signs of a successful re-service at #26 from #48 followed by Galantis’ No Money at #29 from #49. Anne-Marie cracks the Top 40 at #38 from #43 with new track Do It Right as adoption at commercial slowly picks up.

The first debut this week enters at #49 in the form of Good Charlotte’s return to the airwaves 40oz Dream. Flume’s new track Say It ft. Tove Lo debuts at #55. Delta Goodrem makes a #71 debut with Dear Life following #2 Most Added last week.

ARIA Singles

Pink’s Just Like Fire takes #1 on the ARIA Singles chart following a #2 debut last week, picking up a Gold certification on the way. At #3 is the first of many re-entries from Prince this week, Purple Rain, making its way into the Top 10 for the first ever time.

Drake’s new One Dance ft. Wiz Kid & Kyla moves to #5 from #10 on week four in the chart while Flume debuts at #7 with Say It ft. Tove Lo. The next Prince re-entry comes at #11 with When Doves Cry (#1 August 1984) with Little Red Corvette (#8 July 1983) close behind re-entering at #22. Kiss (#2 May 1986) re-enters at #27 followed by 1999 (#2 May 1983) at #28.

Re-entering at #30 and #31 is Cream (#2 January 1992) and Raspberry Beret (#13 August 1985) respectively, while Diamonds And Pearls (#13 February 1992) marks the last re-entry in the Top 50 at #50.

ARIA Albums

Beyonce takes the #1 ARIA Albums debut this week with Lemonade, her sixth Top 10 album in a row. Unsurprisingly at #2 and dotting the rest of the chart is Prince with The Very Best Of beating previous peak of #40 from 2001 by miles.

Dami Im claims #3 with the debut of Classic Carpenters, an album of her own take of The Carpenters’ hits. It becomes her second highest charting album, the highest being her self-titled #1 charting album in 2013.

Prince re-enters at #4 and #5 while scoring a debut at #6. First up is his first greatest hits album The Hits / The B-Sides, taking a new peak at #4 (#5 September 1993). His first ever #1 Purple Rain (#1 August 1984) re-enters at #5 followed by Ultimate’s debut at #6. His album Sign “O” The Times (#20 May 1987) re-enters at #20 while Diamonds & Pearls (#1 January 1992) re-enters at #22.

Prince’s HITNRUN Phase One re-enters at a new peak of #25 while The Hits 1 (#19 September 1993) re-enters at #40. 1999 makes the last of the Prince re-entries in the Top 50, coming in at #46 which peaked at #35 in April of 1983.
