Australian solo acts Vance Joy and Sarah Blasko are well on track for strong debuts on the ARIA Albums Chart this week. Both Joy’s Nation Of Two and Blasko’s Depth Of Field were released last Friday and are garnering a rousing reception from local fans, leading to Top 5 positions at the halfway point of the week.
While Joy has experienced Albums Chart supremacy in the past with 2014 debut record Dream Your Life Away, Blasko’s five previous studio albums have all peaked in the Top 10, the most successful being 2009’s Platinum release As Day Follows Night at #5.
Melbourne band Augie March will also seek out a place on the Albums Chart with the band’s latest full-length release Bootikins. 2008’s Watch Me Disappear was the pick of the group’s albums in the past, peaking at #4.
American rapper 6ix9ine will also appear on the Albums Chart this week as debut mixtape Day69 eyes a spot in the Top 25.
Singles from Post Malone and 5 Seconds Of Summer are roaring on to the scene this week. Malone’s team-up with Ty Dolla $ign on ‘Psycho’ could debut as high as the Top 3. 5SOS are back with their first new song for nearly two years as ‘Want You Back’ looks likely to debut in the Top 30.
