Aussie metalcore outfit The Amity Affliction released their latest studio album Misery last Friday.

Midweek sales data indicates the group could secure a fourth consecutive #1 album in Australia following past chart-toppers Chasing Ghosts (2012), Let The Ocean Take Me (2014) and This Could Be Heartbreak (2016).

TAA could become the eighth Australian act to top the chart in 2018 joining Amy Shark, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Sheppard, Parkway Drive, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Kylie Minogue and Vance Joy.

Other notable album debuts this week come from Korean sensations BTS (LOVE YOURSELF 結 'Answer', Top 5), Alice In Chains (Rainier Fog, Top 10), Neil & Liam Finn (Lightsleeper) and Aussie songwriting veteran John Williamson.

Williamson, an ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee, will likely land in the Top 20 with his twentieth studio album Butcherbird. The Aussie icon has received three ARIA Awards and sold more than four million albums to date.
