The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Teeth & Tongue and Backsliders take the top spots.
Teeth and Tongue (pictured) have maintained their #1 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart for a second week with Turn, Turn, Turn, having picked up spots in Triple R’s Soundscape, SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and Edge Radio Hobart’s new music list. Listen back to Their stripped-back mini-set on Triple R’s Breaking and Entering, live from The Forum at Melbourne International Film Festival.
Backsliders have climbed five spots to #1 in the Amrap Regional stakes with You Are Not Alone. Listen back to Dom, Rob and Ian from the band guest programming 2SER Sydney’s Dirt Music with Stuart Coupe, also treating listeners to a live-to-air performance. Rainbow Chan has remained in the Amrap Metro Chart at #2 with Work. Her new album Spacings was Feature Record on RTR FM Perth and Album of the Week on her hometown station FBi Radio, where she recently dropped in as a guest programmer on The Bridge. During the program, she chatted with Ryan Saar about her career and played music by Sydney artists that she loves.
The Preatures are still going strong in the Amrap Regional Chart, remaining at #2 for a second week with I Know a Girl. The single picked up a spot in FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list and has amassed further airplay across the country at stations including Larrkardi Radio and Bunbury Community Radio in WA, Alex FM and 5GTR FM in SA, Noosa FM, Bay FM and 4YOU in QLD, as well as WOW FM, Radio Dungog, Nambucca Valley Radio, Vox FM, 2MCE, Yass FM, 2EAR, 2BACR and Triple H FM in NSW.

After debuting in the Amrap Metro charts last week, Rebel Yell has remained at #3 with Take Away. Her new Mother of Millions EP from which the single springs is featured on her hometown station 4ZZZ’s Brisbane’s Top 20 most-played list, as well as picking up spots on PBS FM’s Top 10 and Edge Radio’s New Music List. The dark tech producer is featured in Amrap’s AirIt’s special BIGSOUND playlist, featuring artists showcasing at the annual music conference and festival.
Archie Roach has kept his position at #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with It’s not Too Late. Listen to Archie on Radio Adelaide discussing the launch of his project ‘Creation’ on his father’s country of Bunjalun and how much he learnt about his family history. Claude Hay’s rockin’ blues single Roller Coaster has debut at #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart. The single has picked up airplay at a multitude of stations including JOY 94.9 in Melbourne, Tyga FM in TAS, 5GTR, Fleurieu FM and 5 Triple Z in SA, Noosa FM, Fraser Coast FM and Sunshine FM in QLD, Tjuma Pulka FM, Harvey Community Radio and Heritage FM in WA, as well as 2MCR, TLC-FM, 2SEA, Vox FM, Port Stephens FM, Northside Radio and 2BOB Radio in NSW, and 3WBC, Hot FM, Main FM, 3RPC, Casey Radio, 3-WAY FM, Eastern FM 98.1, Yarra Valley FM and Radio Mansfield in VIC.
Sydney alt-country artist Julia Jacklin returns to the Amrap Charts, with her latest single Coming of Age debuting at #5 in the metro stakes. Julia is currently in the midst of a lengthy European tour, but prior to that she dropped by FBi Radio in Sydney to chat with Chris Twite on Arvos about the tour as well as performing an acoustic rendition of her debut singlePool Party in the studio.
Troy Cassar-Daley is still going strong at #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart with the nostalgic country single Things I Carry Around.
