His new role will be to lead UMG’s work with new audio formats and consumer technology to encourage UMG artists to experiment in the company’s studios.

The prize includes the release of a single through a UMG label, the production of a video to accompany the single, and dedicated A&R mentoring from UMG executives.

The multi-year deal will include the telling of the stories of UG’s iconic labels such as Island, Capitol, Motown and Def Jam, and also issue soundtracks and film scores from Lionsgate’s productions.
